  NTONYX, the innovator and leading developer of software based on Performance Modeling technology now announces Style Enhancer Micro 1.2 (CAL based Tool) and Style Enhancer Micro 1.28 (MIDI FX plug-in), new software for MIDI-song animating and creation of expressive music. Historically, experts of NTONYX Computer Laboratory, named by Leonardo Music Journal in 1996 as a "Followers of Theremin from Siberia", became the first research team which has achieved practical results in computer modeling of musical performance and released the new type of a music software - Style Enhancer 1.0.

New product - further development of unique NTONYX technology allowing to introduce in a MIDI-sequence live sounding music. With the help of special rules SEM1.2(8) analyzes MIDI-sequences, inserts into them and changes controller commands such as Velocity, Volume, Pitch Wheel, Expression and others. The result of the transformation is either simulation of a live musician playing a real instrument, or attaining a new unreal, but very interesting from a musical point of view, character to the performance. Now it is easy to use, fast and effective MIDI-tool accessible to all of Cakewalk users. Performance Modeling technology integrated into MIDI section of powerful professional sequencer Cakewalk gives to a composer and arranger previously unaccessable, unique and unlimited features for the music creation.

New features

  • Convenient Transformation Regulators panel, which allows you to easily achieve a vast number of performance variants and to adjust the nuances of the song.
  • A Style Library with 100 powerful styles-algorithms for MIDI data transforming and covering the playing of a wide range of musical instruments different musical manners. With the creation of the Library special attention was given to difficult (in simulation) instruments, first of all strings and wind instruments. The Styles covers such groups of musical instruments as a guitar (acoustic, blues, overdriven, distortion), slap, acoustic, fretless bass, reeds (saxophone, flute), bowed (violin, viola), vocal, percussion, etc. and also includes such kind of transformations as "Notes into Pitch changes";. Now most complete collection of Styles serving to simulate both real instruments and unreal musical manners is accessible to the user.
    Convenient extended Style names (Windows95) with easy viewing and choice.
  • Combined modes of transformation which allows you to mix influences produced by hand with the help of Wheels, Joystick or with special MIDI-controllers (Velocity, Modulation, Pitch, Breath etc.) and influences calculated by the software.
  • Extended number of the parameters of transformation: Tempo, Start Time, Velocity, Expression*(Volume (7), Expression (11), Breath (2), Brightness (74)), Wheel, Modulation and Panning.
  • Auto Optimization function provides a filter of the MIDI-events in the (to be) transformed fragment.
  • Auto-analyzer section, providing the user information about a MIDI fragment selected for transformation and allows you to compare the data of selected material with Style Requirement, to better choose a Style and to execute a transformation (only for SEM1.2).
  • Work as the real-time MIDI FX plug-in (only for SEM1.28).
